My CI’s after going profoundly deaf in my early 30’s; read lips, then CI’s 9’years later … but never learned ASL; learning now… to assert my deaf rights…I keep being told I am hearing; but I am not…
I feel the vibrations from the speakers, didn’t realize until recently and started playing music again.
It’s sad only 1% of deaf Americans know ASL; and that’s all venues (if we are lucky enough) will give to the deaf/HOH.
I currently need a speaker: to feel the music.. but not permitted at concerts; unless pay 1k more for front row… .. 😢
So I am learning ASl; so I can be included again after 20 years.. , thank you for being an inspiration… 🎶❤
