I got a deaf white farm cat a year ago along with a small farm. She had survived alone as a feral for over half a year, quite impressive.
I quickly learned to not startle the cat, she can't hear you and get easily scared. Tapping or stomping to cause vibrations to let her know you are there is good to avoid that.
She is a very careful cat, always hiding, a good strategy if you are deaf. Cars and tractors are dangerous.
A feature is that many of the things we do as humans are very noisy, vacuum, circle saws, angle grinders, lawn mowers normally scare away cats. Not the deaf cats, they still hang around and watch, as cats like do.
