  • I’m D/deaf, to add to the lesson, there is uppercase and lowercase D deafness, uppercase D deafness means culturally deaf like parents of the Deaf culture, and lowercase D deafness is not part of the deaf culture. Another thing that wasn’t mentioned is hearing can be exhausting for us I primarily act deaf, so at times I’m forced into a world I hate, and at Deaf chat I’m social, and it uses less energy for me when I don’t hear with my hearing aids. There is also a Deaf accent I have an invisible Deaf accent (it isn’t obvious to those not around the Deaf a lot) that is why I identify as D/deaf because I have deaf accent although I’m medically hard of hearing, and I am part of the culture in and out which I call code switching.

  • I lost a big portion of my hearing in my left ear at 13 and may still lose more in both my right and left as time goes on. Things can be tricky sometimes. My ears get sore and I struggle to hear more when I’m tired and in windy places (which sucks considering I live on the coast) I’m still in school but since I am the only hard of hearing student in my school and I didn’t enrol with a disability my school doesn’t seem to care. They forget things like subtitles on videos or facing the class when they talk. I’ve even had situations when my hearing aid has died, I’ve asked a teacher if I could get a new battery and their response was, “Your other ear works doesn’t it?” which yes and no. I’m very lucky with my friends though. Most of them especially the ones I’m really close with understand and care about what I’m dealing with, and some of them are even learning sign language so I can communicate easier.
Sometimes it’s tricky to fit in. People stare when I sign something to my sister or friends. Teachers question why I don’t understand videos. But I’m learning new tricks and finding ways to keep going.

  • A good question. I am deaf and I only play the piano. I'm just like Beethoven. But the different sign languages are hard for me to do. Can anyone help me sign the word "spinder" in the German Sign language? It's hard to sign these words in English and other languages. I'm deaf, but I wish my friends would sign the lyrics to Kids For Character Ending Theme song since Bob West had a bad laryngitis. But he rested his voice awesomely.

  • i stoped at 23.😪💀i’m turning 10 soon.😪😪💀

  • Sometimes I fail to hear 👂 properly is perhaps 🤔 my hearing loss is probably getting worse everyday. I was born with moderate hearing loss in both ears 👂 👂 and it’s worse on the left ear 👂 than my right ear 👂. When I fail to hear 👂, I cough 😷 to see if my hearing has failed 😞 😣 😨 and it’s just the sound that I turn up 🔝 ⬆️ 🆙 on the volume on 🔉 🔊 🔔 hearing aids 🦻 🦻. I wear two 2️⃣ hearing aids 🦻🦻in both ears 👂 👂 everyday. 👍

  • I am deaf, my ears are won't working hear anymore. If hearing people voice to me and my ears is nothing can't hear…

  • I feel like the most Adventegous part of being death is that you can read books and do stuff in silence but me, i would probably go insane.

  • Lock yourself in very silent room, this is how deaf people live everyday.

  • For me I'm deaf, and I always needed a louder voice to be able to hear clearly, however communication with others can somehow be difficult for me even If I'm not very good at speeches. I do know a few most dedicated sign languages that I've learnt, and yet that's all I had to say

  • Why it’s so hard to accept that you have a disability

  • For me, I am a deaf person, and no deaf people don't have voices in their heads

  • me: breaks headphones

  • I was not born deaf but now I am 95 percent deaf in one ear and 65 percent deaf in the other ear I wear hearing aids that go in the ear .

  • Your friend's kind of cute not scratch that you're Friend is extremely cute like beautiful

  • What did you say😅

  • bro just asked a deaf person what it means to be deaf

  • I was born half deaf and i have ADHD and autism

  • bro just steals the monsters name from my singing monsters

  • I'm deaf I only hear really loud things

  • Hey there! Thanks for watching and HUGE THANK YOU to Rikki for helping out with this video! Make sure you check out her channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/rikkipoynter

Note: During the sign language in different languages part at 1:39 the Arabic text was meant to say "Kuwait Sign Language". Our apologies for the mix up!
