Deaf life change in India ! Deaf Talks | Deaf NEWS | Deaf Talks NEWS.

Hi welcome to Deaf Talks news,

Today’s news is all about Deaf lawyer Sarah Sunny.
All might have seen her news in other Deaf channels but few of our subscribers want to see her news in Deaf Talks.
So we are doing news and congratulating her for this achievement.
Did you know who is the head of Indian courts ? The head is the chief justice of India.
Now the Chief Justice of India is DY Chandrachud.
And he is the one who is presented as a judge while our Deaf lawyer is arguing.
He said, this is the first time the Supreme Court of India witnessed an interpreter translating proceedings for an advocate with Deaf.
He feels this should have been started a long time ago but now only it’s happening.
He is more supportive and surprised by the interpreter Saurav Roychowdhuryโ€™s speed at which the hearing was being interpreted in sign language.
Once the hiring over Adv. Sarah Sunny meets press people.
She said she is a lip-reading Deaf person.
She always used her voice for communication right from my childhood.
While representing some cases before the judges, it was a challenge for them to understand her speech.
So when they could not follow her, she used to write and show them.
There was no interpreting facility available in the courts which could have made her work more easier. That was a challenge.
The media also interviewed Saurav Roychowdhury (SR).
He said, in 2011 he went to an organization called the Noida Deaf Society.
There he happened to meet Dr Anand Chandani and he used to attend interpreter’s meet.
That is where he met Saudamini Pethe, who was the first Deaf Indian to pass the bar exam.
Unfortunately, she passed away in April 2023 that we all know.
He had interpreted with her for four years during her LL.B. course.
Plus he shared his challenges while interpreting for her in the court.
He said there is a lack of awareness among the judges and no place for the interpreter to stand.
He spoke about many practical struggles of interpreters and also the Deaf.
He finally said that All people should learn about sign language.
Because other disabilities do not have a language barrier, but being Deaf does.
Thanks Saurav Roychowdhury (SR) for giving value support to Deaf community.
This was not interviewed by Deaf Talks.
This news was taken from a Bar and Bench court newspaper. Link is given below.
Plus the Deaf student from NISH did very good awareness wall art in Kerala.
This was done in Manaveeyam road TVM.
This is the importance of awareness taken by the Deaf NISH student.
Deaf Talks wish them and do more like this.
Also we have called those students and staff, and asked their experience about this awareness. Watch the video.
We always support if someone really works for Deaf community.
So posting this NISH students video so that many people appreciate them.
