Celebrating Our Deaf Son’s 3rd Hearing Birthday with Cochlear Implants! 🎉

Four years ago, we learned that our baby boy, Neo, was born with severe to profound hearing loss. At first, we were overwhelmed and scared, especially since there was no family history of hearing loss. Neo became the first Deaf member of our family, and we had no knowledge of the Deaf community.

However, our journey has been life-changing. We’ve met incredible people from the Deaf community, and their support and experiences have helped us grow in ways we never imagined. We are so grateful for everything we’ve learned along the way.

Our lives have completely transformed since Neo’s diagnosis and his journey with cochlear implants. Every audiology appointment, the countless speech therapy sessions, and the early interventions that have helped Neo get here, are all worth the time and sacrifice. From living in Orange County, California, we’ve now moved to San Antonio, Texas, to be part of a supportive Deaf community and one of the top schools specializing in Listening and Spoken Language.

Most of the students at Neo’s new school wear cochlear implants, BAHA devices, or hearing aids. This new chapter in our lives has brought us closer than ever to the Deaf community, and we couldn’t be more thankful.
