Savannah Speech & Hearing Center is a nonprofit organization that has served the community since 1954. Our mission is to provide access to comprehensive speech, hearing, language, and therapeutic services that empower and transform the lives of children and adults—regardless of financial circumstances. For over 70 years, we’ve been a trusted provider for families in Savannah and the surrounding region, delivering compassionate, life-changing care.

We offer the region’s only early intervention auditory-verbal program, Sound Start, which is fully scholarship-based and supports children who are deaf or hard of hearing from infancy through age six. Additional services include speech-language therapy and audiology care for all ages, pediatric occupational and physical therapy, and a support group for adults recovering from stroke or traumatic brain injury (TBI).

To ensure equitable access, we offer a robust sliding fee scale and scholarship program for qualifying families. These efforts remove financial barriers so clients can receive the critical care they need to thrive. We also provide hearing screenings and outreach across four Georgia counties—Chatham, Bryan, Effingham, and Liberty—extending early identification and support into underserved communities.
